## FAQ

### What does Great Question actually cost?

Self-serve is $129 per seat per month, or $1,290 per seat per year (two months free). 1 seat: $129 a month, or $1,290 a year. 3 seats: $387 a month, or $3,870 a year. 5 seats: $645 a month, or $6,450 a year. Five seats is the self-serve maximum.

Observers don't need a seat. External recruitment and incentives are charged separately from seats, per participant, as described below. Enterprise pricing is custom, on annual plans only.

### When do I need Enterprise instead of Self-serve?

When you need any of these: a sixth seat, SSO and SCIM, card sorting, tree testing or focus groups, the Great Question MCP, AI-moderated interviews (an Enterprise add-on), HIPAA compliance (an Enterprise add-on), CRM sync with Salesforce or Snowflake, or the User Interviews panel.

### What's free?

Observers and view-only stakeholders, with no limit on how many. Recruiting your own customers, with no per-participant fee. And the 14-day trial of Self-serve. There's no free plan.

### How does Great Question pricing work?

Great Question uses modular pricing for enterprise plans, so you only pay for what you need. You choose which modules you need (Research CRM, Research Methods, Research Repository), then pay per seat within each module. Start with one module and expand into the others over time. Self-serve plans start at $129/month or $1,290/year when purchased annually. Enterprise pricing is custom based on your team size and module selection.

### What are the different plan tiers?

We offer two tiers: self-serve and enterprise. Self-serve is $129 per seat per month, or $1,290 per seat per year when paid annually, for up to 5 seats, giving you access to core research methods (interviews with round robin scheduling, surveys, unmoderated prototype testing), your research panel, AI analysis, and the repository. Enterprise pricing is custom and unlocks additional methods like card sorting, tree testing, and focus groups, plus dedicated support, custom onboarding, advanced security features like SAML/SSO and audit logs, MCP access, and data governance controls. Book a demo for enterprise pricing.

### Do I have to buy all three modules?

No. You can purchase any module individually (Research CRM, Research Methods, or Research Repository) or all three together. Most customers start with one or two modules and expand as they see value. The average customer ends up consolidating 12 separate tools into our platform over time.

### What counts as a "seat"?

A seat is any team member who actively creates or manages research studies, recruits participants, or analyzes data. Observers and stakeholders who only view shared research findings don't require a paid seat.

### Do you charge for observers or view-only access?

No. People who only need to view research findings, watch recordings, or read insights from the repository get free access. You only pay for the people actively running research.

### Is there a free trial?

Yes. We offer a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. You can launch unlimited projects, use the self-serve research methods (interviews, surveys, and unmoderated prototype tests), manage up to 5,000 customers in your panel, and get up to 20 hours of transcriptions per month during the trial. Card sorting, tree testing, focus groups, and AI moderation are Enterprise features. Incentives and external recruitment start once you move to a paid plan.

### How do participant incentives work?

Great Question integrates with Tremendous to send incentives to participants in 80+ countries. You fund an incentive wallet, set the amount per participant per study, and payments are sent automatically when a session is completed. You control exactly how much each participant receives.

### What does external recruitment cost?

If you need participants outside your customer base, we offer external recruitment through Respondent, a panel of 4.3M+ B2B and B2C candidates, and User Interviews, a panel of 7.5M+. They're separate panels, not one combined figure. Self-serve accounts recruit from Respondent; Enterprise accounts can choose either provider. You're charged per successfully recruited participant at near-cost pricing, and incentives are paid on top. Self-serve plans pay as you go. Enterprise plans get custom rates. Contact us for details.

### How does this compare to UserTesting's recruitment credits?

UserTesting sells recruitment credits on an annual subscription that expire if unused. They charge a premium on top of their recruitment providers' costs, and using your own customers costs 75 session units. We charge per seat for the platform and keep recruitment credits at near-cost pricing. No expiring credits, no hidden markups.

### Can I recruit my own customers instead?

Yes, and this is where most of our customers see the biggest ROI. 90% of qualitative UX research happens with your own customers. Import your customers by CSV or through the API on any paid plan, then filter, segment, and recruit from them in minutes. Enterprise plans can also sync from your CRM (Salesforce or Snowflake). No additional per-participant cost for recruiting your own customers.

### What's included in enterprise pricing?

Enterprise plans include everything in the self-serve plan plus: SAML/SSO, custom onboarding, dedicated customer success manager, advanced data governance controls (sub-workspaces, user permissions, data retention policies), audit logs, data obfuscation, and SLA guarantees.

### Do you offer a Data Processing Addendum (DPA)?

Yes. You can review our DPA terms or request a standalone copy through our help center.

### How does Great Question save money compared to our current setup?

The average customer replaces 12 separate research tools with Great Question. Here's what real customers have saved:

Flight Centre saved $300-400K annually by consolidating their toolstack and scaling from 5 UserTesting seats to 136+ Great Question users.

Procare saved $15,000+ annually after switching from UserTesting, plus 7 hours per month on recruitment alone.

### Is AI moderation live, and which plan includes it?

Yes. AI-moderated interviews are live, not in beta. They're an Enterprise add-on and aren't available on the Self-serve plan.

### How big is the Great Question participant panel?

Great Question recruits external participants through two panels: Respondent (4.3M+ B2B and B2C participants) and User Interviews (7.5M+). They're separate providers, so there's no combined figure. Self-serve accounts recruit from Respondent. Enterprise accounts can choose either.

### What can I prototype test in Great Question?

Figma prototypes, prototypes built with Lovable, v0, Replit or Claude, and live websites. Paste the URL and add your tasks. Prototype testing is on every plan.

### Which video tools does Great Question work with for interviews?

Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams on every plan, including automatic Teams meeting links for interviews. Webex is available on Enterprise.
